Sounds

Sounds..
hit me thickly.
the sound of a cat’s weakened
meow, as he mumbles meowing
dissatisfied,
without enough welcome
attention or affection.

It’s his way of saying,
hey You, please look at me,
stop all that computer nonsense
and pet me immediately.

He is jealous of a machine.
We always say, his meows
are more pathetic than his
adopted kitty sisters.

Not sure why, he is extra affectionate.
Also he is one of the worst
bird serial killers, he has also
brought me gifts such as
a squirrel, and several dead baby rabbits.

His gifts usually cause me to scream
and cuss-he even leaves them alive and stuff.
He does have a much different meow
when he’s on the prowl

when he’s caught something
it’s a sound I cannot describe
it sends complete shivers up my spine,
it’s like a meowing frantic
on a cassette, set on repeat.

the sound is all frenzy, attention getting,
a much louder meow-meow-meow
he is so very proud

of his hunting ability.

Sounds..
hit me thickly.
the sound of a cat’s weakened
meow, as he mumbles meowing
dissatisfied,
without enough welcome
attention or affection.

the ones who are Tall.

All the critters
and creatures
who bless me
daily with their loving
gentle presence.

I cannot imagine my
Life without
my fur-friends.

They give, give, give
so much of themselves
without asking much from us-
some food, some water
a belly tummy rub
or a scratch behind the ears.

For the Love of Animals
is one thing I am
deeply most grateful.
They understand beyond our words.
They understand our hearts
without us trying to explain.

They bear a simple wisdom and
a lovely loyal kindness.

They bear a simple wisdom

They simply Love Us.

Michigan Snow

moshi in snow winter 13                                 Michigan Snow

The snow knows

where it wants to go.

Here in Michigan we are getting,

oh so weary of the Michigan Snow.

It is dreary, it blankets us completely, even my dogs

get tired of this mess. This has been sincerely,

one of our worst winters in recent history.

A year ago, there was barely any and we were spoiled

like small children-we thought nothing about the

snow of Winters past. We had forgotten about the bad driving, or getting your car stuck in the snow-

in your very own driveway!! We did not see this arctic blast coming down upon us.

We never thought, we did not ask, we only assumed-

that this year would be like the last.

We were so wrong. And now I feel blue, from all this-Michigan snow.

I am so sick of it. Not to mention the dog in the photo, he is my 11 year old

Shiba Inu. He’s sick of it too-sometimes it comes up to his chest.

We are from Michigan, born and breed. We should expect this stuff,

yet it was unexpected for many. In fact, it blew us away.

All this Michigander Snow, in and out- every single day!

The Comfort of Cats

The comfort of cats,

as they choose our bed to do

a good part of their natural daily napping.

They make great and loyal friends.

A Bold tiger stripped Tabby,

aggressively, friendly.

A sleek long-haired black cat-she’s the smallest

of our pack-by years not by size.

Then there is the Queen-bee, a 12 year old Russian Blue.

She stakes out our basement as her castle.

The other two hang out with us,

soaking up each and every gesture

or petting or brushing of affection.

The Tabby-he’s eight in human years.

The Black pitch female is just over a year old.

The three of them are my collection

of feline cat companions.

Each one has a different personality.

Very loved, they know they have us doing

whatever they feel is right in the moment-

a scratch behind ears, across a tail or back.

Then a treat or a toy…

lovely loyal furries.

Oh, much joy is found,

in the comfort of cats.IMG_20130203_203008cat in the box

Furry little friends

IMG_0786

I love my furry little friends.
We have 3 cats and 2 dogs.
My mother in law also has a doggie-so its really of total of 3 dogs and 3 cats.

I love our furry little monsters.
One of our cats, pictured above, she is 12 years old now or perhaps 13.
She hides in our basement ceiling ever,
since we got my kitten, last May.

I am hoping that when
spring and summer comes,
she will stop hiding.

its beneath her.
she is our Queen Bee,
of all our kitties.

the next in line to the Cat Throne
would be our 7 year old medium hair tabby.
last is the newest addition
the lucky long-haired black cat-only one year old now.

Our dogs consist of our 11 year old male Shiba inu,
my mother in laws seven year old little apricot schnoodle-
he’s a pain in the butt-only listens to her.
and then our beautiful female German Shepherd dog-she is around five years old now.

It is very nice
to have them spread out
because then someday if we
lose one, we will still have
the others.

I would never want more than we have.
But they are well-cared for and happy animals.
Some would say, we do have too many, but
we love them all.

They are all fixed.
We try to keep up with their shots.
The dogs do know basic commands.

I try to walk our two dogs as much as I can.
The schnoodle is not leash trained-
he struggles and hyper-ventilates.
So i just do not take him.

only the other two dogs-ours-mine and my hubby.
My animals are the best friends ever.
Luckily, I married a fellow animal lover.

My furry little friends! Each has a different personality.
Our Shiba Inu runs the roost.
He struts his stuff
like a samurai royalty.
He bosses the other 2 dogs around.
He is clearly always in charge.

Animals are funny when they have a pack
mentality. It is clear each one has a certain
spot in the family tree.

They are awesome because they love us everyday.
Sometimes the best friends are
also the furriest.
