Help Wanted: Poets please apply, is a poetry anthology project I started in early May 2014. I invited other poets via my wordpress blog to join in the project as a way of individual promotion and free publishing for those who never experienced that before. 18 poets came forward and we all added our own poetic flair. We sincerely hope you enjoy the variety of the diverse and very talented group of poets.
Sincerely Emily Sturgill-Editor This first collection is roughly is 151 pages in length, but please remember ebooks maybe longer than paperbacks-as is the case with this one. I am unsure without double checking but I think the printed book was just over 100-120 pages in length.
It has just recently been released. It will be FREE starting April 2nd on Amazon’s kindle ebook platform.

This is a creative collaborative collection of poetry focusing on three seasonal themes. First is Autumn, Secondly is seasonal holidays such as Dia de los muertos, Halloween, Samhain, Thanksgiving, Winter Solstice, Yule and Christmas. Last is transitioning the changing of Seasons from Summer into Autumn, or Autumn into Winter. There is an underlying connection to the natural world and our place as Poets in it. This collection is very unique yet diverse. Hopefully we weave a web of interrelated connections of Nature and her four seasons as we knock upon her door, we are dredging up Demeter. This collection includes the works of: Lessa Abbott, Omavi Victorine,Celestine Nudana,Jacob Appelman,Katy Ottaway,Scott William Kendall, Anna Bianca, Carrie Page,Emily Sturgill and Bianca Alu-Marr.
The second collection is roughly 79 pages long.
I have a correction to mention, I had noted previously that my poetry and artist chapbook called “Yesterday’s flowers and other things.” would be on sale as a kindle countdown deal from 10/05/14-10/12/14 for 99 cents, in the USA store. That was incorrect that sale is for my UK readers only-sorry!
So that means I have two kindle countdown deals starting today in Amazon.com’s UK store.
The first being “Yesterday’s Flowers and other things” and the second is “Art before Words.”Volume One.
HERE are links for UK readers:
Starting today, one of my poetry and artist chapbooks is reduced to just 99 cents. This sale runs until 10/12/14.
The ebook is called,”Dreamcatcher and other poems.” by Emily Sturgill, 2013.
This is a roughly 29 page chapbook which contains both art work and poetry by the Author. This contains more recent poems done in the last eight weeks, aside from the ones she posts on her blog, “Sex in the kitchen Sink” on wordpress, com There are 2 poems which are reproduced from her blog, “The root canal that never happened.” and “Senseless” Everything else is new work. As a poetess, Mrs, Sturgill attempts to give a voice to feelings many feel are better left unsaid. There is a blending of her original artwork as well.
There are also 3 Reviews on Amazon.com of this book. HERE is a link to buy your very own copy for just 99 cents:

With the combined efforts of my other poet friends, “Help Wanted:Poets please Apply.” is available on the kindle. And I just re-submitted files for the paperback version.
The regular price of the Kindle version is only 99 cents. But today YOU can download it for FREE. Just for today. As an added bonus-it will also be free June 27-30th, later this week.
Here is a link:
The paperback version will cost much more. But part of that is due to printing charges and length-this book is 99 pages long. It will be available on demand from Createspace, 8.5 x 11 (or perhaps 8.5 x 10)? White pages and color images. It will cost $25.95. It probably will not be for sale until later this evening or tomorrow. But the great news is you can download the entire anthology for FREE right now! Also if you buy a paperback version later the e-book is also free to download.
I am seeking poets to join in a Poetry Anthology Project. This project is open to all and any poets. So far I had gotten 3 entries. I prefer if you enter via email. Please email me one single poem at firstname.lastname@example.org If that address does not work please send it to my gmail at : email@example.com. The idea is simple. Once I receive 20 poems, I will notify everybody. The first 20 poets who send a poem are accepted no questions asked.
The purpose of asking for only one poem, is merely to show intent that yes you are a poet and yes you want to be part of this anthology. Next after I get 20 poems or the deadline of June 21, 2014 happens-whichever comes first-next is stage two. I will then ask all the poets to send in two more poems each and a short auto-bio statement including links to published works or blogs or websites.
The purpose of this anthology is two-fold: 1. To display a very diverse amount of poets
2. To give poets publicity especially if they have never been published so far.
Because I am also a poet and an art therapist, I am very broad minded when it comes to poetry. I do not anticipate rejecting anybody-as long as you are in the first 20-and I am not judging any other poets work as good or bad or anything like that.I will also entry myself but only using the same guidelines I’m giving you guys-3 poems total-1 short auto-bio statement* try to keep bio statement to one page please. That way its fair to everybody else too.
As an Editor of this collection-primarily my only real concern is misspelled words.I will change those if I find them but that’s all. Also I am going to change everybody’s font to 12 point times New Roman. That’s really about it. I think with poetry people use grammar creatively-so I don’t wish to edit that. I don’t really have any rules regarding length of types of poems. I really just want to give new poets-or old poets-a place to shine.
I encourage any one to enter. So far, I only have 3 entries but four other poets have said maybe. I am hoping for 20 because I really want to publish it on kindle and Createspace.
The kindle version I would like to keep low like 99 cents. I’m really not trying to make money off other poets-what I want to do is help poets see their work get published and perhaps to encourage them to self-publish on their own.
Please email or comment below if you have any questions-thank you-
A.K.A. Sex in the kitchen sink.
chapbook | dear Georgia. mother is a tornado.
5.0 out of 5 stars For every child of a tornado: brilliant and bold poetry., May 4, 2014
By Emily H. Sturgill “Emily Sturgill”
Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: dear Georgia. mother is a tornado: poems (Kindle Edition)
This is a fairly short collection, yet it leaves the reader wanting more.Usually I do not buy very short e-books, but both her cover art and her title really impressed me. Fortunately,I could not ignore the little voices in my head saying please and why not? Also it is economically priced at just 99 cents. Nothing however, could prepare me for the Slam of her poetry or the Strength in her imagery. From the very first poem I was hooked. This first poem describes: “spinning throat exposed & on fire. She sounds like a mother but mother can’t be this chaos,….” The vivid imagery of a fire breathing out of control Mother, a Mother of chaos..Wow. And from there on the poems just got better and better.
Stacy Michelle is a very talented writer. I really look forward to checking out her blog on […] and to start following her blog myself-just to see more work, by this powerful poetess. Stacy’s blog can be found here: http://thelanguagewespeak.wordpress.com

hungry for more

This review is from: Moon Stream: A Chapbook of Poems and Art (Kindle Edition)
Buying this was a leap of faith for me. As somebody on a limited income, (I’m on disability)-I rarely pay this much for an e-book-$5.99. Despite being only 26 pages, it looked intriguing, so I thought I’d risk it. Ms. Gignoux is a real knockout as a poet. She is very talented. Her art was a nice touch. While, I do not regret buying this item, I really was hungry for more-both poetry and art-and I guess that is a compliment to her mind-blowing talent that she creates a world of poetry in such a short collection that leaves the reader wanting more. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel she could have gone a bit longer. Also, I feel pretty strongly that if you include the word “Art” in your title you should have more than 3 pieces of artwork. But that comes back to my own personal standards because I also publish Artist and Poetry chapbooks on kindle as well. The art she did use was very beautiful but once again I say: this book leaves you hungry for more, more , more!! Despite that I did enjoy her book-I devoured it whole in one sitting.I will most likely re-read it from time to time it made a nice addition to my kindle library.
